South Shore Orthopedics Physcial Therapy department provides you with exceptional orthopedic rehabilitation programs in a professional and supportive environment.

PATIENT EDUCATION

An integral part of rehabilitation is educating the patient about their injury and the recovery process. An educated patient is better equipped to achieve an optimal outcome over a shorter period of time.

FIRST TREATMENT

On your first visit, a physical therapist will perform an evaluation of your injury and discuss the plan of care. Generally, the therapist will instruct you in a home exercise program as well as strategies to reduce your symptoms.

The evaluation usually takes about 1 hour. You should wear comfortable clothing which will allow for inspection of the injury site. Follow-up treatments will vary based on your particular condition. As a general rule, the treatments will take between 45 and 90 minutes.
